Greek English Italiano Romeo Maestri
History

During the forties, Maestri concentrated mainly on building up the office supply sector by adding both desk and plier staplers to the already existing range of models.
Such was the case with the ASTRAL stapling plier (designed for packaging) and the AREL – ARELY – PICAREL desk staplers.
During the war, the Company was totally destroyed by the bombardments of August 1944. Luckily, however, some staple-making machines had been removed the previous year and so Maestri’s symbols of historical and technical heritage were safeguarded.
Thus, immediately after the war, the Company took to manufacturing once again such a basic product as the staple is.
Fortunately, the havoc of war has in no way compromised neither Maestri’s image, nor its vitality.
The premises were rebuilt and production took up again thanks to an extraordinary and, at the same time, significant event which, even today, Maestri considers as emblematic and a landmark in its history. In recognition of the Company’s uprightness and, as a demonstration of their esteem, Maestri’s customers made advance payments on orders placed so as to facilitate the Company’s renewal.
